Vic and I worked together at the Munising News from 1954 thru the years until he moved to the Daily Press. Our paths crossed briefly and happily in the late 1980s when my wife Jane and I were at an art show at the Regency Mall in Racine. With his passing,Vic leaves two of his former Munising News employees from the 1950s to remember the fun and ‘tomfoolery’ we engaged in to fight boredom. Vic and Betty lived across the street from Jane and me in Munising and I recall the night he brought us another batch of smelt he had caught. We had been cleaning the first batch and, still being newly weds, managed to kiss each other with every third smelt cleaned so when he came to the door, he had his infectious grin and commented about lipstick being on my face. Of course, he could not keep this to himself, so the next day at work he made sure everyone knew about it. I’ve often thought about him Betty and recently, in a local column I write for the News, I wondered where he was. Sue Gauthier called from Florida on the 9th and informed me he had passed away that very day. Vic will be missed but as you watched him ‘go’, saying goodbye, those who went before him were watching him approaching Heaven and coming home to our Lord, shouting gleefully…”Here he comes”. He’s at peace now.

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. That light is God’s love. We will go to that light and be with God. Heartfelt sympathy for the entire Stock family. And that’s a bunch of folks. You all are in our prayers and thoughts.

Heartfelt sympathies to the Stock family from Cathy (Gillis) Suster. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. The news of Vic’s passing made me pause and remember my numerous walks thru the alley between our homes. Vic always seemed to be busy putzing on something in and/or around the garage but he never missed calling out to me with a big “hello” as I walked by. May your broken hearts find a way to smile in remembering all the silly moments you have shared together. Love, strength and peace to you all. Hugs and care from an old neighbor and friend,

    Betty and family,
So sorry to hear of Vick’s passing. He was a kind and friendly neighbor. Jill and I just talked yesterday how we knew spring was here when Vick would be snowblowing the remains of winter snow out of his front yard. You are in our prayers. Robert & family.
