Died February 17, 2023
Veronica Paeske, 102, passed away Feb 17, 2023 at Bishop Noa Home.

She was born to Arthur and Delia (Bunno) Thivierge in Rexton, MI on March 12, 1920. She lived her whole life in Gladstone and Escanaba.

She is survived by her daughters, Glenna and Larry Arkens and Mary Grabmeyer as well as her grandchildren Lisa Grabmeyer, Tom and Andrea Grabmeyer plus great grandchild Brock Grabmeyer. Also surviving is a very special niece Deb Dupras and one brother Arthur and Mary Lou Thivierge and many nieces and nephews spread across the country.

She was predeceased by her husband Clyde Paeske, her sisters Eva, Mary Lou, Eileen and Helen Jean.

She was a lifelong member of St Joseph and St Patrick Parish who believed in saying the rosary each and every day of her life, along with her daily prayers. She served as the Delta County Deputy Registrar of Deeds for many years; a job she truly enjoyed. Her early years were spent as a beautician. She and Clyde loved to dance, whether it was square dancing or attending ballroom events. We know Dad is happy, his dance partner has arrived.

Please make memorials to Bishop Noa Home (2900 3rd Ave. So. Escanaba MI 49829) where she was well taken care of the last few years of her life. We thank the staff for the compassionate care they provided for her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 10 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM with Fr. Tim Ferguson officiating. Veronica will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.

    Mary Kay & Glenna,
Our condolences all the way around. I was always so proud to call her my Aunt. She definitely provided all of us many enjoyable memories as we were growing up in the Rapid River and Escanaba area. Thanksgiving dinner in the basement was always the best of times. Peace and prayers to all. Pat & Mary Short

To Veroica’s family my sincere condolences. V’ron came into our lives when we began square dancing and we knew from the start she was a very special lady. She was always sweet and helpful, and always good company. I shall always remember her fondly.
