Terry J. Porath, age 63, of Perkins passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the Trillium Hospice House in Marquette.
Terry was born July 24, 1957 in Escanaba, the son of Wallace and Lorraine (LaCosse) Porath. He graduated from Perkins High School in 1976 and worked in construction all his life. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local 1329 and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known as the “Mountain Man”. He, along with his father and brother, Mike were the co-founder’s and caretaker’s of the “Boar’s Nest” on the Barron Homestead.
Terry is survived by his mother, Lorraine Porath of Perkins; children, Jacob Porath and Joseph Porath, both of Gwinn and Amy Porath of Springfield, Illinois; grandchildren, Avery, Cameron, Orion, Leo and Skylar; sister, Linda Barron of Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wallace, brother, Mike and brother-in-law, Tim Barron.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February, 8 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Terry will be laid to rest in the Perkins Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
