Aunt Shirley was a wonderful woman. My trips to the mall won’t be the same without running into my two favorite Aunts at their table. It always made me feel closer to my Grandma (Millie) when I was with Aunt Shirley & Aunt Bernice. I will be praying for all of you as you grieve.

    Dear Chuck,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Shirley’s passing. It seems like it was only last week that I heard her saying how determined she was to beat this sickness. I am very sorry for your loss.
A lasting memory for me will be the joy she said she gained from simply watching or listening to the kids playing in the back yard. It was some how comforting to me to think that her watchful eyes or ears were present each time the kids went outside. Kind of like a guardian angel for them! Her presence was felt and will be missed. I wish for your peace and comfort as you mourn her loss.

    Dear Charlie and Family,
We are so deeply saddened with the loss of Shirley. A gentle woman so sharing of her smiles and kindnesses. She was gifted with the grace of making other feel comfortable with and around her. We shall always remeber a good number of fun times and giggles, from Bungalow Fish Fry Friday Nights to Bay parties, and dinners together at our homes. May God hold each of you close and give you peace born of beautiful memories of a beautiful woman.

    Chuck,
We are so very sad for your loss. Over the past few months it was so nice to get to know Shirl. She was a class act in life and faced her illness with incredible strength.
Though we never know God’s plan, trust him to keep Shirl, not to let her suffer longer. Treasure the many memories of her and she will be in your heart forever.

    Dear Charles (Chuck)
I was so surprised and saddened to see that Shirley has passed. When it was in the paper earlier this week, I was hoping it wasn’t her. You see, I’ve met a lot people every day for the past 26 years working at JC Penneys. I don’t always remember their names, but I do remember the person and Shirley was a very special, kind, warm, caring person. When she would come in the store she always had a smile on her face, always a twinkle in her eye and always something to say that would put a smile on your face and she didn’t let things get her down. We sould talk about her hands and her treatment and she even had a bright outlook on that.I must say that I haven’t seen her for a while and heard that she had cancer, but I expected to see her come through that door with her sister and start telling me what was going on in her life and seeing that positive attitude come shining through.
What a wonderful woman…I will not forget her. I will miss her. All of us that knew her are better people because we saw the love and caring shine through her.

I first met Shirley 20 years ago when I was working at the Morrison Shop. She and Bernice would come in together. I really enjoyed them. Ever since, whenever I would see Shirley we would always have a little chat. What a lovely lady! It was my privilege to know her. My sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Shirley looks just as we remember her from frequent occasions when we would see her and her sister at Delta Plaza (especially when the food court was operating). She was always bubbly and a joy to visit with.

Dear Chuck, Greg, Jeff, and Julie,
I’m really really going to miss your mom. I know you know alot of these things already, but she was just like a mom to me also. always concerned about what was going on with me. Keeping track of me and making sure I was doing what I was supposed to and getting my shit in on time. We loved going to lunch and sitting at the salon drinking coffee talking politics, Bret Favre and all that good stuff. We sure laughed alot!
I’m sorry I won’t be able to attend as I am in Green Bay waiting to have surgery. Please know that I am thinking of all of you and praying you will be at ease knowing our Dear Shirley is no longer suffering or in pain but now with our Heavenly Father and the rest of the angels guiding us and wrapping her GOLDEN WINGS around us!

I have many fond memories of Mrs. Gold, as I spent a lot of time at the Gold house with Julie. I appreciated her welcoming me into her home and all of the time I was able to spend there. As we got older, Mrs. Gold never failed to stop and talk to me and ask about my family when I would see her out and about. I know how hard watching someone fight cancer is, and I’m sure she fought hard. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
