Our mom, Shirley Frazer, age 86, of Gladstone has gone home on November 11, 2023 to be with our dad.
She was born September 20, 1937 to Robert and Flora (Therrian) Moore. She graduated from the Gladstone High School and married William Frazer in 1955. She was a stay at home mom until 1973 when she started working at the Flat Rock School as a custodian eventually moving up to librarian. She valued her family and friends and was very religious, donating her time to the Holy Family Catholic Church and church functions. She retired after 29 years after Flat Rock School closed and spent some time at the Cameron School. She was an avid gardener and proud of her flowers, especially her rhubarb patch.
Shirley is survived by her children, Kathy (Randy) Tyner, Steve (Debbie) Frazer and Mark (Kym) Frazer, all of Gladstone, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also her in-law families, Bob (Nancy) Frazer, Mary Marenger, Pete (Sharon) Frazer, Sue Searle, Mike (Joyce) Frazer, Pat (Sharon) Frazer and Jim (Nancy) Frazer.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, sister, Roberta, 3 nephews, 1 grandson and her in-laws, Kathleen, Jeanette and Clifford Frazer, Dick and Mary Frazer, Jerry Searle and Norman Marenger.
All donations can be directed to Friends of Library at the Gladstone Public Library, 300 S. 10th Street, Gladstone, MI 49837.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM with Fr. Sebastian Chacko officiating. A luncheon will follow in the Fr. Matt hall. Shirley will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.

    Shirley was a amazing person . She helped me tremendously while I was the principal at FlatRock Elementary. . She handled the closing of the library will pure perfection . Many moenings with a cup of coffee, she listened to me endlessly on the closing of FlatRock Elementary . She helped many kids beyond the library sharing her love to read , her gardening and just a soft hug . God Bless you Shirley in the heavens above

    I loved working with Shirley at the Flat Rock School. Her beautiful smile was a brightener to every day. She had a keen sense of humor that warmed us all. My condolences to all her family.
