Rosella M. Flagstadt, age 84, of Escanaba and formerly of Flat Rock, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, February 19, 2011, at the Bishop Noa Home where she currently resided.
Rosella was born April 16, 1926, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Chouinard) Fillion. Rosella was the third oldest of eight Fillion children, Herman, Leona, Rosella, Clifford, Theresa, Phillip, Geral and Geraldine. In addition, she was raised with five older half brothers, Reyne, John, Laurence, Clarence and Henry Germain and two older half sisters, Ora and Margaret Germain. Rosella was raised on the family homestead and attended the Sovey School in Flat Rock. Prior to her marriage and following, Rosella was employed as a housekeeper for Rev. Fr. Matt LaViolette, for many years, and also for the Holy Family Church. She continued her employment by gaining a position at Mead Paper and Neisner
