Rose M. Maskart, age 76, of Gladstone passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, July 28, 2023.

Rose was born in Escanaba, MI, on December 13, 1946, the daughter of Clifford and Phyllis (Rockendorf) Larson.

Rose was united in marriage to Larry Maskart on February 12, 1966 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Escanaba. They made their home in Gladstone where they raised their daughter Kimberly.

Rose was a Pit Boss for the Island Resort and Casino for fifteen years. She was also lifetime member of All Saints Catholic Church. Rose volunteered for Feeding America and traveled all around the Upper Peninsula serving many mobile food pantries that needed help. She additionally volunteered for the Upper Peninsula Honor Flight and stood flag line for the Patriot Guard Riders for many years.

Rose is survived by:

Daughter: Kimberly (Ron) Sego of Gwinn, MI

Brothers: Daniel (Marty) Larson of Stonington, MI, Donald Larson of Red Oak, GA, Richard (Mary) Larson of Rock, MI

Sister: Mandy Larson of Gladstone, MI

Granddaughter: Heather (Jake) Kremski

2 Great Grandchildren: Kennedy and Raelynn Kremski

In addition to her Parents and Husband, Rose is preceded in death by:

Brother: Robert Larson

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 9:30 until 11:30 AM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Noon in the All Saints Catholic Church Multi Purpose Room. We will have staff in the parking lot to guide appropriately. A luncheon will follow in the All Saints Parish Hall. Rose will be laid to rest next to her Husband in the Fernwood Cemetery.

    Kim, Mandy and families, please accept my condolences on Rose’s passing. I worked with Squeak and Phyllis for many years at the old Buck Inn. I do, and always will, carry great memories from those days. Rest in peace my friend.

    I worked with Rose at the Casino as a pit boss, dealer and as a security guard. I’m gonna miss talking with her at the Feed America deliveries. She was a great help to me during all the times as a dealer and a pit boss. She will surely be missed. This great lady was a joy to know and work with. Prayers and.God Bless.
