ESCANABA, MI – Roberta K. (Legault) Sharp, age 61, of Escanaba, passed away on January 10, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Roberta was born on April 11, 1961. The daughter of Robert and Priscilla (Farley) Legault, she was raised in Munising, MI and was a 1979 graduate of William G. Mather High School.
Her love of horses brought Roberta to Mackinac Island for a first job as a summer employee with Joann’s Fudge Shop while in high school. Roberta’s career began in earnest with an appointment at Farmer’s Home Administration, a position she held for many years. Roberta later held various positions as she moved across the south and southwest until her final appointment as a collections clerk in Warner Robins, Georgia, eventually retiring due to ill health.
Her artistic talents gave rise to beautifully designed works of beaded jewelry and hand-crafted projects. Family and friends were honored to be gifted these pieces over the years. Whether providing school supplies to local elementary schools, contributing goods to the local Women’s Shelter or assembling sanitizing packages for her neighbors during the pandemic, Roberta also gave generously to her community.
In earlier years, Roberta enjoyed bicycling, horseback riding and participating in a pool league.
Positive no matter what life brought, Roberta always shared a smile, kind word or smart-aleck remark to lift your spirits.
Some years ago, Roberta was lucky enough to have found her birth family, including 13 relatives. She was beyond thrilled to have the love of both families in her life. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Priscilla Legault, brother Michael Legault, numerous aunts, uncles and beloved feline companions Casey and Cody. She is survived by her birth brother Jeffrey (Lana), many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well as her feline companion Jasper.
