Papa,
I find myself having difficulty saying this to you, which has never happened when I talk to you. I have so much to say, but not enough time or space to express how much you have influenced my life. My heart has never hurt so much, and I have never been so confused. What I do remember is that your love has shown me how to love, your words have taught me how to live, and I will never forget all that you have done for me. You are and always will be one of my best friends. Thank you for bringing such happiness to my life. I will miss our sports talks, and our three hour long conversations about life that helped me make so many decisions. Irish you were here, and I will miss you until the day comes that I see you again.
I love you Papa.

Dear Bob Jr./”Duff”
May God bless you, your Mom and all of your family during this tough, tough time! Your Dad was a true inspiration to me as well as many other students and athletes. I became the teacher, Dad, husband and friend I am today because of your Dad! He certainly lived a faith-filled Christ-like life! I feel very bad that I’ll be unable to attend the funeral as I’ll be out of the country tomorrow through Easter Sunday. Please know that you, your Mom and the rest of tHe family will be in my deepest thoughts and prayers! Sincerely

Dear Marianne and family,
It is with my sincere condolences that I type this e-mail. Your husband was a such a gentle, kind-hearted and compassionate man. He was my teacher, coach and best friend’s Dad. He definitely shaped my life as a person. I recently retired after 32 years of teaching here in Wisconsin and I believe Bob was my mentor who inspired me to want to enter the education field. I always remember the human side of “Mr. Dufour” teaching at St. Thomas. He made me realize that in order to teach effectively you had to relate to your students. And relate he did! The wisdom, the laughs, the stories, his faith and his love of family, were all pieces that made me develop a sincere and deep admiration for him. The many lives he touched are now out touching the lives of others in a many ways. His legacy will certainly be carried on FOREVER! I have been blessed to have known such a great and Godly man! May you and all of your family be showered with God’s blessings during this time of loss!
Sincerely

I was saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob was my favorite coach at Holy Name, and later a good friend. We shared one or two beers at the Granada and BG’s. Rest in peace
