Rick A. Meckler, age 52, of Escanaba, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Marquette General Hospital.
Rick was born November 28, 1956 in Sharon, Pennsylvania the son of Melvin and Ann (Combine) Meckler. Rick graduated from the Blind School in Pittsburgh, PA where he was the team manager and assistant for the wrestling team. On July 17, 1982 Rick was united in marriage to Deborah Weyant. They remained in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania until making their way to Escanaba in 2000.
Rick loved sports, especially basketball, football and baseball. He was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He loved music of all sorts and enjoyed listening to the radio. He also enjoyed reading books and listening to his scanner. Rick had an unbelievable memory and astounding mathematical capabilities. He was very generous and helpful, an awesome father and Deborah

My thought and prayers go out to the family of Richard Meckler.
He will be greatly missed. Richard was a good friend. I have good memories of when we were in school and when he lived with my family for a short time in Johnstown Pa. Debbie, you were so lucky to have married Richard. Luann and James had a good brother. I don’t think of Richard as gone. He will live forever in my memories.
