Richard Derouin

Richard E. Derouin 74 of 4878 16 Pt 5 Ln. Escanada was called home to the Lord on Sunday July 11, 2004 at home after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born on October 18,1929 in Escanaba the son of Alec and Hilma (Buckland) Derouin and was married to the former Mary Ann Knaus on February 11,1950 and she survives. He had worked for the Morley-Murphy Co. for 18 years and then from 1971 with the Mead Corp. until his retirment in 1992. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

Richard will be remembered by his family and friends for his love of woodworking, camping and the joy he recieved from his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will always be remembered as the teasing grampa.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Mary Ann

4 Brothers: Ken (Sandy) Derouin of Schaffer, John (Carol) Derouin of Schaffer, Gary (Sue) Derouin of Schaffer, Dale (Merry) Derouin of Escanaba

4 Sisters: Dorothy (Emery) Skradski of Escanaba, Lois Dupuy (Rocky) Miron of Escanaba, Carol Kutches of Escanaba, Barbara Ritcher of Rockford, Ill.

11 Grandchildren: Jimmy, Kevin and Jason Frossard; Tonia Henderson; Tricia Tryan ; Jessica Derouin; Jeff, Tim, Jacobe and Tyer Timler and Amanda Derouin

8 Great Grandchildren: Kylee and Taylor Frossard, Brett and Alexia Frossard, Hunter and Quinton Timier, Cooper Henderson and Carter Tryan.

And several nieces and nephews

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Alec and Hilma; Brothers Roger and Allan, and inlaws Grey and Isabel Knaus.

The Derouin Family will recieve friends at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at 500 Ogden Ave. in Escanaba on Thursday July 15th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Richard Derouin will be held at the church at 6:00 PM with Rev. Rayford Ray officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery. A Lunch will be served in the church hall following the service.

The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Derouin Family.
