10 Tributes for “Richard A. Schmeltzer

Dick was without a doubt one of the best Barbershoppers there ever was and ever will be. He along with a few others helped me fall in love with Barbershopping and 23 years later I still love to sing. He was also one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met. I should know, I’ve written down most of his jokes and told them on occasion. His stories will forever live as will the memories of such a great man. He will be though of and in my heart each time I enter a stage to perform the Barbershop music he loved. I will miss Dick very much.

You are loved, and you are missed.I have such fond and happy memories of singing next to Dick during barbershop quartet rehearsals in Gladstone. It was an honor and pleasure just to sit around, drink some beer, and listen to his stories. He was always kind to me and showed me the ropes. Thank you and God Bless you Dick.
Keep a spot in Heaven for all of us. Can’t wait to sing with you again.

Uncle Dick, I will always remember the happy times growing up and going to camp with you all….as a little girl I always looked up to you….you have always been there in happy times and sad times too….I hope you will be reunited with Aunt Joyce and Evelyn (grandma) and my mom Judi too…..I will miss your big heart!! Love you!!!

Condolences on the passing of your Dad. He sure had a long full life. My fondest memorie was of going home with Sue after school and not knowing how to get home. Prays to your family at this time.

I am so sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. I had the privilege to work with him at The Daily Press shortly before he retired. Although I haven’t seen him in many years, he is one of those people who touched my life and is fondly remembered as a good person.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dick through my work as an aide. Such a wonderful man! He was so even tempered and had such a great sense of humor. I admired how much of a family man he was. I am sure he had quite the welcoming into Heaven, as I know that many of his loved ones and friends preceded him. Sue, it was a true pleasure to work with one of the greatest assets to your family, and I am glad to have known him.

I send my sincere condolences to all of Dick’s family. I have fond memories as a child, of going to Wells to visit with your parents & Aunt Rose.
    Blessings to you all.

Oh my, what a sad day for us all. Long ago memories are filling my head with laughter and yes, tears are also with me.. What a kind, friendly, nice man Dick was, it has been years since I have seen him but still remember him with fond memories.. May you all find peace in knowing that he was loved by many.
