Richard Albin Hanson, 77, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at home in Harrison Township, Michigan, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Richard was born May 21, 1935, in Escanaba, the son of Albin and Edith (Olson) Hanson. He was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School. After graduation, Richard served in the U. S. Marine Corp, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He was a cement finisher for 30 years for Argersinger and Morse Construction Company of Ann Arbor.
Survivors include: his long time friend and companion, Yvonne Holcomb of Harrison Township; son, William Hanson of Owensboro, KY; two daughters, Alicia Hanson of Greenville, KY, and Paula (Robbie) Rager of Bremen, KY,: two brothers, Gerald (Tammy) Hanson of Escanaba and Melvin (Jeanette) Hanson of Bark River. Also listed among the surviving family are five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albin and Edith and his brother Robert Hanson.
