Phillip Earl Jones, age 60, died on February 24 at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba, of complications from a stroke and various other illnesses.
Phillip was born on September 15, 1953 in Escanaba, son of Warren L. and Barbara M. (Davis) Jones of Gladstone. He was raised in Gladstone and attended Gladstone Area High School. He was employed for several years at Northern Michigan Spliced Veneers in Gladstone, and also worked in the oil fields in Kansas, and as a driver for various trucking firms in Wisconsin. For more than 25 years, he was employed at Aarrowcast Foundry in Shawano, WI. He was an avid hunter and looked forward each year to firearm deer season.
He is survived by his father, Warren, one brother, Andrew Jones of Gladstone, two sons, Christopher and Jason, in Wisconsin, daughter, Kristy Lynn, of Escanaba, stepson, Gary Sovey, seven grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
His mother who passed away sixteen days prior to his death, one brother and daughter also preceded him preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes are assisting the Jones family.
