Philip “Phil” R. Peterson, age 80, of Gladstone, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Phil was born December 8, 1941, in Marquette, the son of Randolph and Agnes (Dorman) Peterson. Phil grew up in Marquette before enlisting in the United States Army. Phil served for 2 years before being honorably discharged in 1960. Phil loved hunting, fishing, and doing anything outdoors, especially with his grandchildren. Alongside his family, Phil cherished his animals. Any pet he had truly was family. He will be deeply missed by so many.

Phil is survived by his wife, Barbara Peterson, daughters Dana Vranish and Dawn (George) Sailer, grandchildren Taylor Vranish, Bradley Vranish, Samantha Sailer, and Sean Sailer, as well as his beloved dog, Duke.

Family will receive friends on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services honoring Phil will follow at 6 PM with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating.

    So sorry for the loss of this wonderful man! I only knew him a short time at Camping World, he made a great impression in that little time and will be missed! Rest In Peace sweet Phil!

    I am so sorry to all your family. I will miss seeing him. A few years back he made me a solar light and it is on my deck all summer and when i camp. I will cherish it.

    He was a great man!! Loved when I could visit with him, all though not often enough!! Thoughts and prayers to the family!!

    Phil will be missed. I knew Phil and his mom and brothers who have passed away. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. RIP boogity boogity! I just found out today he passed
