Philip J. Cosgrove, 86, of Gladstone, a proud Irish American passed away Sunday July 20th, 2014 at Marquette General Hospital; the results of a brief, unexpected illness.
Phil was born in Trout Lake, MI August 24, 1927 and moved to Gladstone in 1932. He attended All Saints Catholic Grade School and Gladstone High School. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Navy, and with distinction, served his Country during World War II. After the end of those hostilities, Phil immediately re-enlisted into the United States Air Force serving another 20 years before taking a full retirement as a Chief Master Sergeant. Phil then moved to Washington DC and started his 2nd career working for the US Government with the US Capitol Hill Police Force. It was here that Mr. Cosgrove earned his nickname

Elaine and family, So sorry for your loss. Phil will always be known as one of my favorite customers at the Delta Pub when I used to work there. He loved his Pepperoni pizza and diet coke every Thursday! He was always funny with me and I enjoy him. He will be missed.
