Owen James Lippold, age 78, of the Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Shelby Township, MI passed away Thursday June 30, 2011 at the Sunrise Assisted Living Center.
Owen was born April 30, 1933 in Stonington, MI the son of Melvin George and Ruth Ellen (Ross) Lippold. He was raised in Stonington and he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the Chrysler Corporation for 35 years until his retirement. His hobbies included fishing.
Survivors include 2 brothers: Wayne (Marlene) Lippold of Rapid River and Mark Russell (Carol) Lippold of Escanaba and 2 sister-in-laws: Betty and Janet Lippold. 12 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Owen was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Calvin and Warren Lippold, nephew, Ron Lippold and his sister-in-law, Dolly Lipold.
Private visitation and services will be held on Tuesday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone with Rev. Stephen Gauger of the Calvary Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Rapid River Cemetery in Rapid River. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone are assisting the Lippold Family.
