Otis P. Williams, age 63, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 26, 2014, at his residence in Gladstone.

Otis was born May 7, 1950, in Escanaba, the son of Louis and Vivian Williams, of Gladstone, and Joan Gravelle of Escanaba. On July 19, 1968, he married the former Linda King, of Escanaba, and together the couple made their home in Gladstone where they raised their two daughters, Tina and Rita.

Otis retired, after nearly 40 years, from NewPage Corporation, in Escanaba. He and Linda enjoyed many years of motorcycling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. From fishing and hunting to supporting them in sports, he was always there. Otis was a wonderful husband, father and papa and will be greatly missed by all.

Rita Mills (Chris VanEvera) of Escanaba, MI
Grandchildren: Jordan Gill, Amber Gill (Daron Emery), Jessica Gill,
Magnum Mills and Sydney Mills all of Escanaba, MI
Great Granddaughter: Joslyn Emery of Escanaba, MI

    Linda & family, We are so sorry to hear about Otis. You have our deepest sympathy and are in our thoughts and prayers. We are in AZ visiting our daughter so won’t be able to be there for the funeral.

    Linda & Family-You have our deepest sympathy during your time of loss. Otis was a wonderful co-worker of 25 years and will be missed greatly. He was one of the best guys I’ve ever met. Otis was truly a family man and loved you all very much. We enjoyed the fun times we had together over the years and may God be with you during this time of sorrow.

    My heart goes out to all of you…I know how close your family is and I can only imagine the loss you are feeling. I will miss Otis coming in for steaks, he always made me laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with you, may your memories carry you through.

    I only knew Otis for about three years, I work with his daughter Rita, but I will never forget his generosity in allowing me a warm place to do a little work on my car when he offered his heated garage to me. He even came out and helped me and handed me wrenches and held the light! What a great guy! I know he will be missed by many and I’m certain he left his excellent mark on the world through his friends and family. My heart and my prayers go out to Rita, Tina, and Linda and of course the rest of Otis’s family in this difficult time.
