Norman Ammons

Norman Andrew Ammons, age 78, of 6224 Mirons 16.8 Lane, passed away Saturday July 2, 2011 at the Marquette General Hospital in Marquette following a lengthy illness.
Norman was born July 7, 1932 in Ecorse Township, MI the son of James D. and Ruth Carmen (Chandler) Ammons. He was raised in Southgate and graduated in 1950 from Wyandotte High School. He continued his schooling at Wayne State University and later graduated from Henry Ford Community College.

Norman was united in marriage to the former Thelma Bauerle on May 24, 1952 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wyandotte. They made their home in Wyandotte where they raised their four children.

Norman was employed for 36 years with the McLouth Steel Company. Three years following his retirement in 1991, they relocated to their summer property in Rapid River.

Norman was a member of the United Steel Workers Local #2659, and the N.R.A. His hobbies included fishing, bicycling, hunting, waterskiing, x-country skiing, motorcycling and oil, ink, and pencil painting.
