Norine Irene McGee, age 91, of Escanaba passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba.
Norine was born April 22, 1920 in Pierron, Illinois the daughter of Adolph and Rose (Gruenenfelder) Barth. Norine moved to Escanaba at an early age to live with her aunt and uncle and eventually got married and raised a family. Following the early passing of her first husband, Norine joined the work force to support her young family. Norine eventually became a self-employed seamstress serving many families in the Escanaba community. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, serving on the rosary guild, altar guild and various committees within the church. Norine moved to Sparks, Nevada in 1972 to be near her daughter, Roselynn. She continued her work as a seamstress and was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Sparks. Norine returned to Escanaba in 2005. She loved spending time with her family, baking, making clothes and draperies and word puzzles. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Her son: Dave (Lisa) Lindstrom of Galesburg, IL

4 Grandchildren: Colleen (Shawn Allen) Lindstrom, Jenny (Mark) Schwark, Sara (Michael Williams) Lindstrom, and John (Melissa) Lindstrom

6 Great Grandchildren

Her good friend, Vienna

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ted Lindstrom, her second husband Dick McGee, her daughter Roselynn Lindstrom, her parents and an infant brother Lawrence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 27 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will be served following services in the church fellowship hall. Norine will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Norine’s name may be directed to the Delta County Animal Shelter or OSF Hospice. The family is being assisted by the Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Escanaba.
