Norbert E. Weber, age 95, of Trenary, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, MI

Norbert was born July 24, 1924, in Kingsford, MI, the son of George Weber and Minola (Richards) Weber. He was raised in Manistique, MI, and graduated High School there. In 1943, he enlisted in the Navy, then married Katherine Brill on January 23, 1950. He worked for the State Highway Department until he and his wife bought the Trenary Tavern, which they owned for 17 years. He then went and worked for K.I. Sawyer as a snow plow driver, until his retirement.

He belonged to the Gladstone American Legion and Trenary Lions Club for 50 plus years. Norbert loved putting puzzles together, playing cards, and cribbage. He was also an avid Packer fan.

Norbert’s family would like to thank Bishop Noa Home and OSF St. Francis Hospital for the loving care they provided Norbert during his stay.

Norbert is survived by:
Daughter: Kathy (Jerry) Seymour of Rapid River, MI
4 Grandchildren: Treva (Frank) Yost, Mary Jo (Mike) McNelis, Lisa LaChance, and Shawn (Melissa) Seymour.
6 Great Grandchildren: Aaron, Eric, Heather, MaKayla, Samantha, and Breannah.
And 1 Great Great Grandchild: Rayleece

In addition to his Parents, Norbert is preceded in death by:

Daughter: Mary Lee Maynor
4 Sisters
And 2 Brothers

Family will receive friends Friday, October 4, 2019 from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Trenary. Mass of Christian burial will follow the visiting hour at 1:30 PM at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Trenary with Rev. Fr. Joseph Vandannoor officiating. Burial will follow in the Trenary Cemetery. A luncheon will follow burial in St. Rita’s Catholic Church hall. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Weber family.

    Kathy, so sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences to you and your family.

    Norbert was a sweet and friendly man. He leaves behind a sweet and kind daughter. She will never be alone. Her friends and family will see to that. Rest in peace Norbert.

    My sincere sympathy for you, Kathy, and all the family. Kate and Norbert were excellent and welcoming neighbors when I moved here. I enjoyed and appreciated your visits, too, Kathy. My good wishes to all of you.
