Myrna Lockard, age 83, of 602 N. 13th Street, Gladstone, MI passed away Monday evening March 26, 2012 at home following a brief illness.
Myrna was born October 18, 1928 in Paradise, Kansas the daughter of Leroy and Carolina (Paulson) Martin. Myrna was united in marriage to George Lockard on June 10, 1946 in Hays, Kansas and together the couple made their home in Gladstone and started their family.
Myrna was the head cook and custodian for the Gladstone Public Schools for several years and she also worked for the Marble Arms Corporation for 16 years. She also worked as a nanny for several families in the area for many years. She will be remembered for always being there to help when needed.
Myrna was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Gladstone.
Survivors include her sister, Anna Ostum of Hays, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Myrna was preceded in death by her husband George, on October 4, 2011, and her son Martin.
The Skradski Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone will announce graveside services for Myrna

I remember Mrs. Lockhard, all thru my yrs in going to Gladstone schools she was always very friendly and wouldn’t ever hesitate to stop and talk with us students, very kind and special lady, who will be greatly missed.

Myrna was a sweet lady with a golden heart. I have cut her hair for a number of years, sure will miss our conversations. Rest in Peace Myrna with George and Marty, whom you missed dearly.
