Merle Roy Morgan Jr., age 75, of Gladstone passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
Roy was born in Goodrich, Michigan to Merle and Orminta (Bugbee) Morgan on June 30, 1947.  He graduated from Brandon High School in Ortonville, Michigan and attended Oakland Community College for skilled trades classes.
Roy was drafted into the Army in 1966 and served the majority of his time in Seoul, Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1968.  Roy was united in marriage to Barbara Crisenbery on November 29, 1968.  They enjoyed 54 years of loving partnership.
His careers were varied over his lifetime.  He was a Journeyman Millwright at Pontiac Motors, logging sawyer, sporting arms shop owner, long distance semi-truck driver, and his last, pilot car driver for wide loads which he enjoyed up until a couple months ago.  He loved working and especially driving.
Roy loved his family, and taking care of them, above all else.  He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and spending lots of time at his camp.  Roy was a great craftsman, building a family home, his camp, and numerous other buildings.  If it needed to be built, created, or fixed, he could do it.  In addition he enjoyed reading westerns, varmint hunting, poker, and shooting the breeze with friends.
Roy is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Brant (Shifrah) Morgan and Stacey Morgan, grandchildren, Rebecca, Parker and Alex Morgan and Wyatt Shippy, brothers, Gary and Ben Morgan, sisters, Cindya (Roger) Hills and Antoinette (Ken) LaVere and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Morgan.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 28 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.  Military Honors will be presented by Gladstone American Legion 71 at 12:45 PM with service following at 1:00 PM with Pastor Elisabeth Daniels officiating.  Merle will be laid to rest in the Perkins Cemetery at a later date. Refreshments and reminiscing available during visitation!
In lieu of flowers Roy asked that donations, if desired, be made to his family towards medical expenses.
