Mary Louise Bakran, age 92, of Escanaba passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Mary was born February 27, 1922 in Escanaba, the daughter of Andrew and Katherine (Grsich) Bakran. She was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School. Following high school, Mary attended the Cloverland College for a year. Mary moved to the Milwaukee area and was employed as a secretary for the Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company for many years until she retired at the age of seventy. She then went to work for Father Haas at St. Therese Parish in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin for ten years. She lived in Green Bay, for a couple of years, following her retirement and eventually returned to Escanaba where she was a resident of the West Highland and Bishop Noa Home Apartments. Mary was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling, reading, crafts, knitting and sewing and was an avid dog lover.

Mary is survived by three sisters, Anne Goodreau of Kingsford, Elizabeth Potvin of Wells and Patti Servant of Escanaba; two brothers, Thomas (Edith) Bakran of Green Bay, WI and John (Judy) Bakran of Abrams, WI; 21 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and two great -great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Carolyn Jane Ferrari and four brothers, Steven, Rudy, Frank and Joe Bakran.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5:00 PM at the St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Fran DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will follow services in the church fellowship hall. Mary will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
