Mark Arthur Sundstrom, 56, of Rapid River, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Escanaba on April 15, 1966, one of twin sons, to Ray and Dolly Sundstrom of Stonington.  Mark married Donna Olson on September 14, 1991 in Stonington, and together they had two sons, Ryan and Brandon.

Mark was employed as a drywaller for Jerry’s Drywall, and later as a heavy equipment operator for Halquist Stone.  Mark was an avid Green Bay Packer and Michigan Wolverine fan.  He enjoyed the outdoors, and going to camp with his brother, Matt, and his sons and nephew Scott.  Mark liked the simple life, and loved his family dearly.

Mark is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Donna, two sons, Ryan (Cassie) Sundstrom and Brandon Sundstrom, brothers Matt (Shelly) Sundstrom, Tom Sundstrom, and John (Emma) Sundstrom, sisters Marie (Bryan) Leonard and Susan (Dano) Sundstrom-Young, grandsons Bradley and Oakley, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sandy Jacobson, his father and mother-in-law Robert and Mary Jane Olson, and his sister-in-law Debbie Gustafson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 4pm-6pm at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.  A memorial service will follow at 6pm.  To honor Mark’s simple lifestyle, casual attire is encouraged.

    I really miss my cousin Mark, The times that we had together will always be in my mind.i am so sorry for your loss Matt & Donna. He is no longer suffering. God Bless!
