Margaret M. Black, age 93, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba.
Margaret was born December 12, 1927, in Marquette, MI, the daughter of Henry and Marie (Raymond) Dionne. Margaret was a high school graduate of Baraga High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at F.W. Woolworth Company. She was united in marriage to the late Randall Black Jr., and together they shared 71 wonderful years making memories. Randall preceded her in death on November 11, 2017.
Margaret is survived by her children, Margaret (Walter) Aho, Rosanne Cole, Laura (Paul) Knuckman, and Paulette (Gary) Grisso, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Margaret will be laid to rest in Fernwood Cemetery at a later date.

I so looked forward to visits to MI to see family – especially Aunt Margaret and Uncle Randy! Oh, her laughter! Her wit and shenanigan’s always made our visits so much more fun! When I saw her last she didn’t recognize me, but she sure had stories to tell of days gone by, of her bothers and sisters, and her “Rand”. She was a beloved Aunt to me, and memories made with her, or because of her, will be with me forever. My thoughts and prayers are with the family as you grieve.

I have so many memories of Auntie Margaret! Her and Uncle Randy use to stay at my parents house when they came to visit. You always knew they were there from her loud laugh to her scolding Uncle Randy for something he told us kids that she felt he shouldn’t have. For years we would visit them at their home in Marquette or at camp. She loved to tease me lol. She always let me know she loved me, and she gave fantastic hugs! She will forever be in some of my best memories.

Aunt Margaret was a beautiful women. She always made our trips up north so much fun. I loved going to visit her and uncle Randy. She will be dearly missed. The last time I saw her, I gave her a little teddy bear with her name on it. She didn’t remember me, but I will always remember her. Prayers to the family at this very difficult time.

My condolences go out to Margaret, Rosanne, Laura and Polly. Seeing your mother’s obituary and her smiling face in the Mining Journal brought back a flood of childhood memories. Hoping you remember Marie and Maureen from back in the 50’s when you lived on Washington St. in Marquette. Your mother looked the same as I remembered her. She always made us feel
welcomed as we spent so many hours playing at your house. I particularly remember her smile and laugh. One of my favorite memories was sitting in front of the first TV with the whole family watching the the snowy test pattern on the new channel 6 television station, laughing and hoping to see a TV show.
Since I saw her obituary I’ve been able to recall many fun memories at the Black’s house. A wonderful feeling of times gone by.
