Margaret A. Jodocy, age 92, of St. Nicholas, Michigan passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
Margaret was born on February 5, 1921, the daughter of Jerome and Lucy (Dewilde) VanDecaveye. Margaret was raised in St. Nicholas on the family dairy farm and graduated from Perkins High School in 1939.
On September 1, 1951 she was united in marriage to Marcel A. Jodocy at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins, Michigan. The couple made their home in St. Nicholas where they owned and operated their own dairy farm.
Margaret is survived by five daughters, Joan Jodocy of Sacramento, California, Mary (Arnie) Schneider of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Penny Jodocy of Gladstone, Michigan, Pamela Jodocy of Gladstone, Michigan, Stephanie (James) Hacker of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; two sons, Anthony (Debbie) Jodocy of Niagara, Wisconsin and Christopher Jodocy of St. Nicholas, Michigan; six grandchildren, April (Ken) Walenski, Andrew Jodocy, Adam Jodocy, Sarah Schneider, Jonas Hacker and Hannah Hacker; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Julian (Honey) VanDecaveye of Perkins, Michigan and Joseph VanDecaveye of Sacramento, California; two sisters, Martha Latos of Warren, Michigan and Marcella Maki of Sacramento, California and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel, her parents, two sisters, Mary Gabriel and Christine VanDamme and a brother, James VanDecaveye.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 26 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, March 27 at 11:00 AM. at the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parrish in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Eric Olson and Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Margaret will be laid to rest in the St. Nicholas Cemetery.
