Louise Syers

Louise Rhea Syers, age 80, of Trenary (formerly of Rapid River, passed away Thursday morning April 15, 2010 at the TenderCare Nursing Home in Munising where she had been a resident for the past 5 weeks.
Louise was born April 23, 1929 in Marinette, WI the daughter of Frank and Marjorie (Stanley) Smith. She was raised in Menominee where she was a 1947 graduate of Menominee High School. Following graduation she was united in marriage to Theodore Matulewicz and they made their home in the Marinette/Menominee area where they raised their children.

In her second marriage, to Willard Syers on January 26, 1980, they resided in Rapid River where Louise cooked for the Pantry Truck Stop in Rapid River.

Louise enjoyed going to the casino to visit with her friends and she also enjoyed Polka and Jitterbug dancing.

13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Theodore Matulewicz and Willard Syers, and a grandson, David Matulewicz.
