Leona Dorothy Michalik, age 84, former resident of 217 Dakota Avenue, Gladstone, passed away Saturday April 29, 2006 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
Leona was born March 8, 1922, in Detroit, the daughter of John and Mary (Wiacek) Niewzalek. The former Leona Niewzalek married Alfred Michalik on February 15, 1943 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Alfred preceded her in death on March 4, 1986. Leona and Alfred moved to Delta County in 1956 and together the couple owned and operated the Port Bar, for many years in the Fayette area.
