Leo A. Brunette, age 92, of Gladstone, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba.

Leo was born on March 28, 1929, in Escanaba, the son of Henry and Rowlond (Couillard) Brunette. Leo was raised and worked for the Delta County Road Commision for many years. He also was a member of Local Union 328. On September 30, 1950, Leo was united in marriage to his wife Betty and together they spent 71 years making wonderful memories.

Leo loved to go to camp, especially to hunt. He also enjoyed cutting wood at camp. Leo was a Detroit Lions football fan. He also was a devoted parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. He also cherished spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by so many.

Leo is survived by his loving wife, Betty, children Bruce Brunette, Connie Brunette, and Carla (William) Rowley, brother Francis Brunette, sister Martha Robinson, grandchildren Nevaeh Brunette, Harleigh Brunette, Bella Brunette, Kevin Thompson, Lori Lewis, Michael Moyle, Tina Lehoulier, Brian Moyle, Michael Rowley, Fred Rowley, many great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins.

Leo is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Vivian Thompson, son Steven Brunette, brothers Raymond Brunette, Henry Brunette, Adolph Brunette, Rene Brunette, and Fred Brunette, and sisters Eva Brandt, Melda Brunette.

Leo’s family will receive friends on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services honoring Leo will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Leo will be laid to rest in Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. A luncheon will follow in the All Saints Church Parish Hall at 2:30 PM.

    I just want to give my deepest condolences to Aunt Betty and the family for the lost of Leo who always had a smile and unforgettable laugh I haven’t seen Leo in a long time and I regret that a lot from the picture they put in the paper he still looks great with a beautiful smile All I can say is the world lost a beautiful person and he will ALWAYS be missed by all
