Katherine “Kathy” Frappier

Katherine “Kathy” Christine Frappier (nee Woodring), 71, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2023 at home from ovarian cancer with her loving family by her side.

She was born on April 27, 1951 in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of the late Harvey Woodring Sr and Nettie (Reed) Woodring. Kathy met her future husband in Pennsylvania and on June 22, 1970 she married Lambert “Sonny” Arthur Frappier-Sr in Hagerstown, MD prior to relocating to Escanaba, MI in 1970.

Kathy was a loving homemaker, mother, sister, friend, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved spending time with family and always made her family a priority.  She loved supporting grandchildren/great-grandchildren activities.  She enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren/great-grandchildren baking, decorating her house and playing card games.  Kathy had a strong sense of work ethic that rubbed off on everyone around her, especially her three sons and was always willing to lend a helping hand where she could.

She is survived by her three sons: Lambert “Sonny” (Becky) Frappier-Jr, Jeffrey (Emily Oman) Frappier, Scott (Cindy) Frappier, step-daughter Tina Shipman, 15 grandchildren: Keith, Rebecca, Jessica, Shawn, Josh, Ashely, Melissa, Zack, Jaymie, Morgan, Cody, Madelynn, Parker, Kalie, Jerzie six siblings: Shirley Burns (Troy, NC), Dianne Schlichting (Norwood, NC), Tom Woodring (Waynesboro, PA), David Woodring (Waynesboro, PA), Ralph Woodring (Waynesboro, PA), Donald Woodring (Waynesboro, PA) and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Lambert “Sonny” Arthur Frappier (Oct 2021), her birth parents Harvey Woodring-Sr (Feb 1968), Nettie Reed Woodring (Nov 1969) and brother Harvey Woodring-Jr (Mar 2019).

 

 A Celebration of Life honoring Kathy will be held Saturday March 18, 2023 from 3-7pm at the Highland Golf Club, 3011 U.S. Rte 2, Escanaba, MI 49829

    Jeff and family…..was so sorry to hear about your mom. I waited on your folks for many years at the old Buck Inn, and we shared many laughs My sincere condolences on the loss of such a kind, and sincere person.

    Sonny/Becky, Jeff/Emily & family. I’m so sorry to hear about your Mother. My prayers are with all of you. I met your Mom several years ago with your Dad and never forgot her. What a wonderful lady…

    Love to all the family, I moved away but never forgot your Kathy and Sonny for being so kind to me. I know they will be missed.

    Your Mom was a wonderful, strong , beautiful lady . My prayers for Kathy’s
    families and who knew Kathy . Kathy was a wonderful sister-in-law. Many of days I would walk to visit Kathy and her sons . I would have my children with me and Kathy and I would visit with coffee and the children would play ( and maybe get into trouble) . Kathy will be missed.
