Katherine L. Erfourth, age 85, of 717 Minnesota Avenue, Gladstone, died early Saturday morning April 5, 2008, at the Christian Park Health Care Facility in Escanaba.
Katherine was born September 11, 1922, in Perkins, the daughter of Maurice and Josephine (Piche) Forsberg. She was raised in Perkins and attended the Perkins school system. On May 18, 1942, Katherine was united in marriage, to Thomas C. Erfourth, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins. Together, Katherine and Thomas made their home, raised their family and spent their entire married life in the Gladstone area. Thomas preceded Katherine in death on June 26, 1993. Throughout her life, Katherine worked primarily as a homemaker and in addition, she was employed as a child daycare provider and a senior companion throughout Delta County. Katherine was a member of the All Saints Church in Gladstone. She enjoyed going to bingo, relaxing with her cat “Princess”and spending time with her loving family. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include:

1 Son: Roger Erfourth of Sheboygan, WI

3 Daughters: Mary (Donald) Gagnon of Fort Wayne, IN, Sandra Erfourth of Gladstone, MI, Karen Swanson of Ontonagon, MI

1 Brother: Floyd (Virginia) Forsberg of Escanaba, MI

Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Maurice and Josephine and her loving husband, Thomas, Katherine was preceded in death by:

3 Brothers: David, Luke “Buddy”, and Emmett Forsberg

2 Sisters: Leona and Harriet

Visitation for Katherine will be held privately by the Erfourth family at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Due to construction at the All Saints Church, Mass of Christian Burial services will be conducted on Thursday, at 3:00PM, at the First Lutheran Church, in Gladstone, with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow of the All Saints Church officiating. All are invited and most welcome to attend. Luncheon will follow funeral services, on Thursday, in the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Committal will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. TheSkradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Erfourth family with arrangements..

    We have been fortunate to know Sandra and her mom for many years. Sandra is especially near and dear to us with many hours spent together doing Special Olympics events.
