Katherine ” Katie” Boudreau, age 95, of Escanaba passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba.

Katie was born July 31, 1917 in Escanaba, the daughter of Adelore and Delia (Beauchamp) Boudreau. She was a lifelong resident of Escanaba and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She was employed at the House of Ludington for many years as well as other restaurants in the area. She loved to ride her bike around town and would often be seen at her favorite hangouts like Wickert Floral, Mr. Bike and Ski, Main Street Coffee House and many other locations.

Katie is survived by her sister, Dorothy L. Kang of Escanaba; special nieces, Katherine “Prunie” Kang and Janice (Kevin) Cumming, both of Escanaba and numerous nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews; special friends, Matt Marenger and his family and Lilly Ann-Zorza.

She was preceded in death by her parents and thirteen brothers, Octave “Frenchie”, Leo “Bud”, Wilfred, Hubert “Swede”, Eugene, Robert “Joe”, Adolore Jr., Lawrence, Raymond, John, Kenneth, Russell and Ralph and four sisters, Cordelia Boudreau, Mildred Boudreau, Loretta Norlin and Violet Baker.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 6:00 PMat St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Fran DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will be served ine the fellowship hall following the services. Katie will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Anne’s Catholic Church or to the family to be donated to a charity of their choice.

    Katie was one of the few remaining people of her generation from the 8th Street hood. I wish I was in town, I would have liked to have been there to celebrate her life. You all have my sympathy. Shurlee (Weesterberg) Plouff
