Joyce M. Mihalic, age 74, of 654 Railway Avenue, died Thursday evening March 30, 2006 at her home in Gladstone.
Joyce was born February 24, 1932, in Gladstone, the daughter of Daniel and Marie (Sequin) Young. Joyce was raised in Gladstone and attended and graduated from the Gladstone High School. On January 5, 1957, Joyce married John A. Mihalic and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Gladstone. John preceded her in death in 1980. Throughout her life, Joyce was employed for the Red Owl Grocery Store located in Gladstone, Five and Dime Store in Escanaba and was a life long member of the New Horizons Free Methodist Church. Her hobbies included, knitting, baking goodies for family and friends and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include:

1 Son: Mike (Lisa) Mihalic of Neenah, WI

2 Daughters: Carol (Steven) Gilman of Marinette, WI; Barbara Schave of Hill City, SD

2 Brothers: George (Mildred) Young of Gladstone, MI; Milford (Nancy) Young of Gladstone, MI

2 Sisters: Marcella (Charles) MaKosky of Gladstone, MI; Marilyn (Dennis) Aicher of Gladstone, MI

8 Grandchildren: Peter (Niki), Daniel, John (Carmen), Brian, Adam, Samantha, Amanda and Shannon

2 Great Grandchildren: Kyra and Kylie

Also Surviving are many nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Daniel and Marie and her husband John, Joyce was preceded in death by:
1 Sister: Elaine Forvilly

1 Brother: Clifford Young

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Memorial services celebrating the life of Joyce M. Mihalic will follow visitation, at 5:00PM, at the Skradski Funeral Home, with Rev. Frank Scarcelli of the New Horizons Free Methodist Church officiating.     I’m so sorry for your loss. I stopped to see Bev a couple weeks ago, it was so sad. May you find some comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain & is gone to a better place.
