Joyce Elaine (Meisler) Hellerstedt
“I have called you by name, you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1). With the assurance of everlasting life, Joyce Elaine Hellerstedt went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 30, 2024. Joyce was born in Escanaba, Michigan to Peter and Esther (Norman) Meisler on February 28, 1930. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1948. While attending Augsburg College, she met her husband, Richard Hellerstedt. They married on March 18, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Escanaba.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, parents and one grandson, Michael Hellerstedt. She is survived by sons, Wayne (Cindy), Timothy (Layne) and one daughter Diane (Wally) Lind. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Dan (Leslie), Justin, Erik, Ashley, granddaughter-in-law Sofia and five great grandchildren, Carson, Nora, Brady, Cole and Gunnar.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Bark River for their wonderful care. We would also like to thank the U.P. Health System Hospice staff for making her transition to her eternal life easier. The family will be forever grateful.
Joyce’s burial and celebration of life will be held in the spring when all the family is able to gather. Memorials in her honor can be sent to Bethany Lutheran Church Radio Ministry.
