John Lough, age 73, of San Francisco, CA, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 in San Francisco.
John’s mother Lorraine Lough and two sisters, Mary Jane Nelson and Betty Ann Defiore of Gladstone are listed among those who survive him.
Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

It was at University of Detroit in the early 1960s when I first met John, beginning a close and valuable friendship that lasted more than 50 years. At that time, he also began close friendships with both Joe MacDonald (my cousin) and Judy Emery, and the four of us remained close ever since. I valued John for his wit, his intelligence and his sensitivity, I last visited him in San Francisco about two years ago, and spoke to him by phone just a few weeks before his passing. I was pleased to hear that he had arranged for his nephew Eric to find a good home for the “Sisters” paintings. I think about John often, and always fondly. My sincere condolences to his family.
