Jeanie A. Kenney, age 89, of Powers, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

 

Jeanie was born on July 20, 1934, in Alpha, MI, the daughter of David and Clara (White) Kenney. She was one of 6 children. Jeanie grew up and following high school, she worked at the Ardis plant in Racine, attended local college, and then worked as co-owner of Tuff Kote for many years. She loved to travel, dance, play piano, and go shopping. Jeanie taught CCD for several years and used to hunt and fish. Jeanie always had a smile on her face and a kind word to share. She had a quick, witty sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. She will be missed by so many.

 

Jeanie is survived by her children Mary (Arthur) Kossow, Melissa Veeser, and Don Veeser; daughter-in-law Lori Veeser; sister Joanie Veeser; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and friends who became family, Debra (Mike) Farrell and grandchildren.

 

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, siblings David Kenney, Charles (Shirley) Kenney, Michael (Marie) Kenney, and Katherine (Gus) Peterson; and son Chris Veeser.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Services honoring Jeanie will follow visiting hours at 1:30 PM with Rev. Fr. Fran DeGroot officiating.

    Such a sweet lady. Heaven recieved another angel. I was a care giver for her at pinecrest . Hugs to her family ,that she thought so much about . As she shared her memories with all of us.

    So sorry for your family’s loss. Find comfort in all the memories that you have shared and treasure every one of them.

    I want to thank everyone that came to Jeanie’s (Mums) Memorial service. I know that she appreciate it too!
