James E. Norman Sr., 72, an Escanaba native, died July 8, 2009, at Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Born Nov. 4, 1936, to Uno and Ruth Norman, he had worked in construction as a finisher. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and met his wife, Catherine, while stationed in England. They married and had both of their children during his overseas assignment.
He lived in Escanaba, Kansas, Illinois and Milwaukee during his career, and retired with his son in Virginia in 1996. He moved with the family to Nevada in 1998 and lived there until his return to Milwaukee in 2006.
