Heather A. Kohnert, age 48, of Escanaba, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at UP Health Systems in Marquette.

 

 

Heather was born September 12, 1974 in O’ahu, Hawaii, the daughter of Thomas and Debra (LaChapelle) Kohnert. She attended and graduated from Superior Central Class of 1993.

 

 

Heather was a natural born provider. She was a vibrant person who carried her laughter and smile everywhere she went. She loved her family and spending time with them. She was a proud Grammy. She enjoyed arts and crafts with her children as they were growing up. Heather especially enjoyed watching her brother, Jason, perform and attend his gigs. Her unwavering positivity and her spirited personality will be greatly missed.

Nash Kohnert of Escanaba, MI

 

Daughters: Morgan Gray of Escanaba, MI

 

Niecy Kohnert of Escanaba, MI

 

Sister: Shannon (Chris) Kohnert of Escanaba, MI

 

Brothers: Jason (Leslie) Kohnert of Menominee, MI

 

Nathan (Nikki) Kohnert of Escanaba, MI

 

Jesse (Pamela) Rhodes of Menominee, MI

 

Grandchildren: Mason, Brayden, Alecia and Cami

 

Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins

 

 

In addition to her Parents, Heather was preceded in death by a Brother, Raymond Kohnert.

 

 

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating Heather’s life will follow at 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. A luncheon will follow at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Escanaba. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Kohnert family.

    She will surely be missed she was like a mother to my two kids I could never thank her enough for all she did for them

    Heather was such an amazing friend and person. I feel so lucky to have been a part of her life. She is going to be truly missed. My heart goes out to her family, especially her kids.

    Heather was a bright light. An amazing mother & Grandmother. An incredible friend. She loved, immensely. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I will miss her very much.

    Heather was the sweetest and nicest person I have met. She cared about everyone no matter what. She was God’s angel on Earth but He needed her back in Heaven. She will continue to live on in our hearts and memories. Rest In Heaven my friend.

    So sorry to hear about Heather’s passing. I worked with her years ago at the Bakery Plus. She was always so sweet and kind. Sending prayers to her family.

    Heather was as Beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Her eyes and smile lit up every room she walked into to. I will never forget this Sweet Wonderful Girl. Now in the arms of her loving mom.

    My condolences go out to her whole family, especially her children ! Heather was a very sweet and loving person who cared a lot for others. She will be missed. May God wrap his loving arms around her family and give them the strength that they need to get through this difficult time in Jesus name

You made my life so much more fulfilled and you brought me great joy. You are like the daughter I’ve never had by all intent and love that you were my daughter. And I know u looked upon me as your Mom, Auntie, and Friend. I can’t even my life without you. That smile, those beautiful blue eyes, and sweet disposition was amazing. You lit up every room you walked into. You are deeply missed by me and I love you. It makes my heart soar knowing that you’ve gone home to our Lord, your mom, Gramma Jan, aunt Denise, your brother Ray, and so many others. Soar high my beautiful “daughter.”
