Gladys Valencic, age 90, of Marion, Iowa and formerly of Escanaba, Michigan, passed away peacefully Saturday May 28, 2022, at Keystone Cedars Assisted Living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Gladys was born October 13, 1931, in Escanaba, Michigan, the daughter of Iver and Marcella (Moreau) Nelson. She was raised in Escanaba, Michigan and was a 1949 graduate of Escanaba High School. On October 6, 1951, Gladys was united in marriage to Lawrence Valencic and together the couple made their home, raised their family and spent many wonderful years together in Marion, Iowa.
Gladys enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Originating from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Gladys and Larry loved to take family vacations to their home in Kipling, Michigan as often as they could.

Gladys is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, from 11:30AM to 1:30PM, at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone, Michigan. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visiting hours, at 2:00PM, at All Saints Church in Gladstone, with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Gladys will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery.
