We remember Pug fondly. He was a groomsman at our wedding in 9/27/52. He was a second cousin of Barbara and they lived just a few houses from each other in Brown’s Addition. We want to extend our loving thoughts to Pug’s family.

Pug is the best father-in-law I could ask for. So many fond memories: Grand Island, hunting, fishing, playing cards or just talking. What a colorful character everyone could sense his presence through his actions, the sound of his voice, his smile & laughter. What a storyteller he was with his own language & unique words.
I am a better person through getting to know Pug. A devoted husband, father and grandfather – his humility, contributions to community and compassion for his fellow man will carry with me as principals in my life – his spirit remains strong.
So many things I respect about Pug – a hard worker, dedicated to the cause; a teacher, excited to share his knowledge; treating his neighbor as he wished to be treated & his passion for enjoying life. Like Frank Sinatra’s song “My Way,” Pug did it his way and that’s what made him so special.
On behalf of Carol, Teri, Traci, David, Loma and family, thank you for helping us celebrate Pug’s life.

My dad “Seb” was Aunt Josie’s brother, My first recollection of Pug was when he visited Manistique to see his Uncles “Seb”, “Finn” and “Beanie”. My first rememberence was on one of his visits he had a 52 or 53 Chevrolet convertible that had a siren installed under the hood. I had the pleasure of seeing Pug and Chum many times and I always enjoyed them very much. He will be missed

‘Pug’Steinhoff dead? Impossible! He lived such an active and full life, giving love and affection to everyone he knew…..always smiling and ready to offer a helping hand. ‘Pug’ gave me many ‘story leads’ for the Munising News and we shall remember him for a long, long time. The Munising area has lost a true friend and his ghost will roam here forever.
