ary J. “Gus” Pepin, age 72, of 4956 County 416 20th Road in Gladstone passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
Gary was born September 26, 1938 in Escanaba, the son of Arthur and Agnes (Roberts) Pepin. He was raised in Flat Rock and graduated from the St. Joseph and Holy Name High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Mary Kay Ettenhofer on Febraury 2, 1963. Gary worked as a paper maker at the Mead Paper Corporation for 35 years until his retirement on January 1, 2001. He also enjoyed photography and computers.

Gary is survived by:

3 sons: Michael Scott (Tammy) Pepin of Bark River, MI; Patrick Arthur Pepin of Atlanta, Georgia; Todd Joseph (Colleen) Pepin of Dallas, Texas

1 daughter: Laura (Jim) Makosky of DePere, Wisconsin

4 grandchildren: Zachary, Kelsey, Katey and Noah

2 brothers: Robert (Cheryl) Pepin of Flat Rock, MI; Richard (Stephanie) Pepin of Gladstone, MI

2 sisters: Susan (Jerry) Tichon of Grand Rapids, MI; Novaline (Warren) Bovin of Flat Rock, MI

Numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kay on November 12, 2003, his parents, one sister Joan Lee Pepin, his brothers Donald and John and an infant brother.

The Pepin family will receive friends on Saturday, February 19 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 Pm at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Prayer services will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Gary will be laid to rest with his wife at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
