Gary R. Besson, 65, of 1219 Stephenson Ave. Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Gary was born in Escanaba on November 2, 1938, the son of Ralph E. and Bernice (Vanlerberghe) Besson. He was a life long resident here. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and archery.
Gary was employed as a Public Safety Officer for 37 years with the city of Escanaba until his retirement in 1998. A U.S. Veteran, Gary served in the Air Force as a M.P. while stationed in Asia and Japan.
Gary Ralph Besson married Theresa Norine Tebear March 3, 1962. Together they owned and operated Jensen

I remember Gary from playing along side him in the Eskymo front line. He was a great big gentle person and one of the good guys.
