Frances Russo, age 84, of Newark, New York passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

Frances was the oldest of seven children, born August 28, 1928 to Angelo and Rose (Cassetta) Russo. In her early years she loved to sing and play with her younger siblings. At age 21 she went to live permanently at the New York State run Fingerlakes Developmental Disabilities Service Institution. She attended school and day programs and in her later years enjoyed listening to country music, attending concerts and church, shopping for hats and eating at McDonalds.

Frannie had a special relationship with staff and residents of her group home at 108 Cobblestone Terrace in Newark. Her very special staff friend, Linda, spent a lot of time with her on special outings which included going to visit family. Frannie

    My Frannie girl was a very special lady in my life. I loved working with her for over 20 years. Someone once asked her if I was her momma and she said NO sister. I was truly blessed to have that special connection with her. I will miss her.

    I am sorry we never met. It sounds like she was loved and cared for, may she rest in peace.

    Dearest Dorothy and Family……….I am so sorry, yet again for another loss in your family. It definitely sounds like she lived an interesting, fun-filled life! Rely on all of your memories and each other as you grieve. You have yet another beautiful angel shining upon all of you! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

    Mom alway speaks lovingly of her sisters, brother and extended family. Frances will be missed by all, and tenderly remembered.

    Mi Zia. Signorina Frances Russo was my mama Mary Russo Steuers’ Oldest sis, Lucille, Susan, Salvatore are all Resting in Heaven with our Lord. As of 2020 Dorothy, Stephen, Theresa are surviving siblings. Auntie Frances mama Rose Cassetta Russo passed in December 1956, at age 48. I have a picture & a tiny urn of you Auntie. God Bless You.
