Evelyn P. Deneau, age 72, of Rapid River passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at her home with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.
Evelyn was born June 8, 1940 in Garden, the daughter of Perry and Evelyn (Rochefort) Pardee. She was united in marriage to Roger L. Deneau Sr. on December 17, 1976. Evelyn worked as a bartender and waitress for several years and loved to camp, play cards, especially “Shanghai”, play dice, bowling, pool and darts. She also liked to cook and bake. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Roger; sons, Otto Drossart of Leesburg, FL, Christopher Drossart of Escanaba, Roger Lee (Heather) Deneau Jr. of Rapid River, Todd (Wendy) Deneau of Rapid River, Greg (Shannon) Deneau of Escanaba, Daniel (Christine) Deneau of Escanaba; daughter, Kim (Fred) Willis of Escanaba; 25 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; brothers, John (Connie) Pardee of Florida, Roger (Pam) Pardee, Gary Pardee of Florida, Perry Pardee Jr. of Wisconsin, Peter Pardee; sisters, Mary “Pat” Lynch of Flint, MI, Anne Niezaky of Sault Ste. Marie, Linda Langston of Gladstone, Agnes Erity of Gladstone, Beverly (Ron) Warrick of Clinton Township, MI, Lillian Pardee of Gladstone, and Darlene (Charles) Young of Gladstone, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Larry and Daniel Pardee.
According to family wishes, Evelyn will be cremated and laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery at a later date.
The Deneau family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

Although we haven’t seen Evie for awhile, we will always remember what a wonderful person she was. Always ready to lend an ear or just sit and shoot the breeze. Rest in peace our friend, you will always be remembered.
