Elizabeth Vermote, age 85, of Cornell, Michigan beloved wife of the late Francis Sharkey and the late Rene Vermote, passed away Tuesday morning July 13, 2010 at her residence in Cornell.
Elizabeth was born March 1, 1925 in Rock, MI the daughter of George and Clara (Major) Lusardi.
She was the loving mother of Wayne (Kay) Sharkey, Pamela (Phil) Walusek, Deborah Sharkey, loving grandmother to 4 grandsons, and 3 great grandchildren, fond aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, a very special friend to Lisa.
She was married to Francis Sharkey in 1946 and Rene Vermote in 1985.
Betty served as chaplain for the American Legion Auxiliary and she was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perkins. She enjoyed dancing, writing, music, reading, watching movies, and bowling.
Betty’s family will receive friends on Saturday July 17, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Elizabeth Vermote will follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Burial will follow at the Perkins Cemetery in Perkins.
