Elaine M. St. Martin, age 93, of Escanaba passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, May 7, 2014 at the Bishop Noa Home.
Elaine was born May 19, 1920, in Escanaba, the daughter of Ernest and Corrine Beauchamp. She was raised in Escanaba and attended and graduated from St. Joseph High School. On January 8, 1944 Elaine was united in marriage to Frank St. Martin at St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba. She was a longtime member of St. Anne Catholic Church where she volunteered on the funeral luncheon committee and at other church events. She was a member of the St. Gerard

I will always remember Grandma letting us “sneak” downstairs at night time and eat cookies that she made. My favorite where her golf ball cookies.

Remembering Aunt Elaine makes me think of family gatherings at her big dining room table. The family gathered around to celebrate holidays. There was lots of good food, laughter, and noise from all of the children. I miss those big family events. Aunt Elaine always had a smile and a gentle way.

I was saddened today to hear about Aunt Elaine’s passing. I have good memories of visiting with her and Uncle Frank when I was a kid. She and her sisters were the ladies I looked up to growing up and know that I still think of them when a sit and have a cup coffee and a cookie.
