Elaine and her family are in my prayers. I hadn’t seen Elaine in many years but my Dad, Marty Carlo, would keep me updated on how she was. I am a cousin of Patty Guillermo.

We were saddened to hear about Elaine Hartman’s passing and offer her family our deepest sympathy. We want to thank Sister Dyonne Finn for her letter to Marty Carlo, brother-in-law to the late Evelyn Hartman. Marty and Elaine had been keeping in touch via letters and Sister Dyonne was kind enough to keep that correspondence going when Elaine was not feeling up to writing herself.

Elaine and I became friends the day her brother, Fr. Donald, passed away. I had been visiting my mother-in-law, Flora Guertin (who became a very good friend to Elaine)and was just leaving for home. Elaine was very upset and felt so alone. I told her I would stay another day or so, to be with her. She said, “But you don’t even know me!” I stayed, and we became special friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you, her family, who she spoke of often.
