    I first met Howard in the mid-80s. He always remembered my name each time through the years that we would meet around town. I enjoyed his happy smile and hearing about his buttons. The last time I saw him was before Christmas. Our brass band was playing carols at the nursing home and I saw him across the room. He only had two buttons on. When I asked where the rest of his buttons were he said they were in a drawer back in his room. I was glad to see him again.
