I was very sorry to heart about Mary’s passing. Her obit did not mention her interest in politics. I enjoyed talking with her when we both attended the same events over the years. I will miss seeing her. My best wishes to the family.

Mary was my student in Writers’ Workshop at Bay. In addition, she was my friend.

She was a fine, altruistic person. She has left her presence in Escanaba.

To the family of Dr. Mary Cretens: I would like to add my admiration for the activities and accomplishments of Dr. Cretens. Many years ago she was an active participant in my Reproduction and Family Planning course at the University of Wisconsin- Marinette campus. Whenever she came to class the students were treated to a very professional and caring presentation by the director of the Menominee/Delta Counties Health Department. When many physicians would not take the time to be involved in family planning education, she understood the need by the students. She was an outstanding health care physician and educator. You are all so fortunate to have had such a wonderful person in your family.
